Re: HD I/O clocking issues on HDX

Mine worked fine after replacing both of the new HD I/O's with a third new one. Not sure what the problem was, but swapping out HD I/O units eventually solved it. The HDX card and my old 192 were...

Re: MTRX Studio using Dante only

Ok, thanks Dave and James.

It looks like either option (MTRX Studio or Red 16Line / R1) would work fine for my needs. I prefer the hardware remote of the R1, but it seems like the MTRX has more...

Re: MTRX Studio using Dante only

Thanks for the extra info, James. 64 channels over Dante is sufficient. Not planning to run dedicated renderer at this time.

I was already also looking at Focusrite Red 16Line (since it has...

MTRX Studio using Dante only

I am planning an Atmos 7.1.4 studio build, potentially using the MTRX Studio as an interface and monitor controller. Currently using primarily Pro Tools and HDX in a Mac Pro 5.1, but want to also be...

Re: Help needed - Creating macro to speed up vocal tuning process

I agree with Dave above - recording to another track is the easiest way. To make the workflow easier, I copy the entire vocal track to another empty track first, and place Autotune on the new track's...

Re: Best way to feed in DAT tapes with Digi hardware.

You should be clocking from the DAT machine, or in other words the Pro Tools clock is set to "Digital". It is unlikely that this DAT machine can be clocked externally when playing, so it will need...

Re: Why get hybrid mode if on hdx?

You might need the hybrid mode with HDX if you are running up against its limitations, not just in voice count, but when it runs out of DSP for the mixer and will not let you add more sends, for...

Re: HD I/O clocking issues on HDX

Both HD IO's are brand new and so is the HDX card. I don't ever run 192k sessions, but it is having issues and showing additional failures in Digitest at lower sample rates when connected along with...

HD I/O clocking issues on HDX

Earlier this year, I upgraded my old HD rig to a new(er) computer with HDX, keeping the old Digi 192 interface. Everything was working great. However, recently I added an HD I/O and immediately...

Re: Torturing a Classical Guitar Track

In tough cases such as these where time-stretching is almost always audible to some extent, I usually end up not time stretching the exposed long sustained notes. Instead, I'll spend a lot of time...

Re: Direct Box for Bass into PT - Recommendation?

The Avalon U5 is excellent, but for a lower budget choice, I recommend the Countryman 85 DI, particularly for rock music.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST: Give HDX *at least* the same voice count as a non-HDX interface

Re: Exporting a 5.1 mix

The filmmaker isn't really right. It is not about exporting, as others have replied above. If it was mixed in stereo, then it needs to be remixed for 5.1, otherwise it isn't really 5.1.

You have...

Re: Any advantages going from High Sierra to Mojave? Mac Pro 2012 Pro tools HDX

There are no advantages as far as Pro Tools is concerned at this time, however being on Mojave will almost certainly be a requirement at some point for a future update for Pro Tools, as dropping...

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio

Yes, I tried changing buffer settings and nothing changed.

It's the compression gain reduction meters that were bugging me. Guess I will have to use my ears instead!:D

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio

Ugh, I upgraded to iZotope RX7 Advanced and the plug in meters are still way ahead of the audio, so it isn't an issue with having an older version.

Re: Plug-in meters way ahead of audio

Yes, removing iZotope really makes it a lot better. Plug-in meters are working correctly now without iZotope plug ins installed. I still have some delay compensation issues when bussing from one...
