Re: HD Native Power Supply

Did Avid ever actually sell a rebadged power supply, all occurrences I've seen folks just grabbed a third party 1A/12VDC supply. Make sure you are using a center positive barrel connector on the...

Re: Issues with audio in playback.

What you need to do is clearly answer, not ask questions.

Nobody cares if the "system itself has perfectly good audio" we need to know what exact chipset(s) it has. You will be unlikely to...

Re: "plug-in is not present in the plug-ins folder" error

Did you try trashing prefs, especially to force Pro Tools to rebuild the plugin index/cache?

I don't know the plugin but is there any possibility there is something askew here say with different...

Re: Issues with audio in playback.

What would you like other users here to tell you?

This is the second post you've made to DUC where you provide no useful info, I've pointed you to useful directions in you previous post and yet......

Re: Using an HD Native Thunderbolt w/ the new Macs??

I suspect there maybe some truth in this if you specify a bit more fully, that is Thunderbolt drivers derived from vendors PCIe drivers will tend to be very good since those higher-end vendors have...

Re: Using an HD Native Thunderbolt w/ the new Macs??

Actually it's better with Ultimate/Flex as you can now run 256x256 IO on Core Audio and ASIO.

Again (to others not Sardi or Eric) folks need to stop repeating old out of date and out of...

Re: Multiple interfaces: ideal Loopsync and Digilink cabling?

They make some really great high end stuff, I remember drooling over a rack of ADA-8XR in the past. Had to have a little lay down. :-)

I'm glad you did not go with messing around with upgrades.

Re: Using an HD Native Thunderbolt w/ the new Macs??

Bzzzzzzzt. No to your no. Nein. Non. Nej. Ei. :-)

I can run hundreds of channels of audio over USB 3 or even USB 2 (e.g. 128x128 channel of MADI on a dinky little USB 2 bus powered RME MadiFACE)...

Re: Multiple interfaces: ideal Loopsync and Digilink cabling?

(I even read the manual) Not just running a word clock off the sync, but they actually implement the loop sync master/slave selection.... very nice.

Re: Could not complete your request because Assertion in "d:

Any time you get an assert message... search for it.

The exact line number likely does not mean much, and don't include...

Re: Drum Plug In

I would recommend Ez Drummer 3 https://www.toontrack.com/ezdrummer-line/

Even though it is $179 and you are going to have to buy an expansion pack $89 to get brushes--look at the country and jazz...

Re: Pro tools Studio hardware inserts - Weird latency issue with plugins

Given I reproduced this with a RME Fireface UFX+, and already noted that in the thread above, I would say not

when I get time today I'll file that with Avid support so they know.

Re: Can't find proper I/O in my computer

So you should select "Integrated Output" as the playback engine.

I described how to drag over a known good mp3 or similar audio file to test this works... did you do that?

Why are you talking...

Re: Hardware inserts in PT Studio: is there a plugin to route inputs and outputs?

You can be comforted by knowing it *will* work and now you know it's only the physical port numbers that matter (that part is *not* obvious) you can hopefully sort this out quickly.

The smarter...

Re: Hardware inserts in PT Studio: is there a plugin to route inputs and outputs?

Bzzzzt. Hardware inserts *will* work just fine as long as you observe the 1:1 mapping requirement of Pro Tools. And thats 1:1 mapping is of the physical I/O port numbering, not the port names. Pro...

Re: Can't find proper I/O in my computer

I'm not following why you are stuck.

In that Playback Engine dialog panel (Setup>Playback Engine) set the playback engine to be whatever the internal audio device in your Mac is called. The old...

Re: Transitioning from Cheesegrater to Mac Studio: a few questions

You don't actually mean USB3, you mean USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 or 4 to DVI... something that uses the displayport signaling capability on USB-C connectors.

There are a lot of adaptors available....

Re: Can't find proper I/O in my computer

I already clearly answered that question and provided additional info.

So again: you can try using Built-In Output as the playback engine (and have no audio recording ability, which is OK for...

Great. Looks simpler. I see similar brain broken behavior here now I can see what you are doing with toggling LLM.

If you leave LLM disabled do you find any other problems? I never use LLM so...

You mean a Rode NT-USB mic? If so... That's not really want you want with recoding with Pro Tools. You want an interface that has some mic preamps in it and a traditional analog mic typically...

Re: Can't find proper I/O in my computer

What are you trying to do artistically? What do you want to record etc.?

The M-49 is a MIDI keyboard it is not an interface.

If you are just wanting to use virtual instruments (VIs) in Pro...
