I fooled a bit with the security preferences in Yosemite. This stuff is all new to me as I'd been on 10.6.8 for quite awhile. But I had both Pro Tools and Script Editor enabled under the Security &...

Thanks shane, but I don't think that's what I'm looking for. At least I don't THINK it is. I'm looking for something that will bounce incremental tracks in one timeline by itself with no user...

Auto Bouncer, Applescript and PT12/Yosemite...

Hi guys-

It's been awhile since I've been around. I'm hoping someone here's got an answer for me - I searched the DUC and found nothing, which is kind of amazing to me as this little script has...

Re: Pro Tools HD2 pci-x on Mac OS

Unless you're a hobbyist, I'd suggest the Magma route. If you go hackintosh and have ANY problems, the best help you'll be able to find is a smile. The worst will be uncontrollable laughter. If a...

Re: Hitting the wall... all too frequently

I have similar issues in 8.0.4 as well. It's not a 9 or 8.1 issue only. Never had it in any version of 7.x.

Re: massive pack upgrades from PT 8 to PT 9

Not sure about the massenburg, but you're going to have to upgrade the rest. I did all those plugs recently. You're probably looking at $2-300 or so. Did you have them working with 8.0.4? I...

PT9 running on MOTU 828 mk II?

Is anyone successfully running PT9 on a MOTU 828 mk II Firewire interface?

I'd like to do a little editing away from the HD rig and I've already got that interface laying around.....:D

Thx.

Re: Can't seem to stop the crashes and kernal panics

FYI, beware of booting up a Install DVD that is not the EXACT same OS version as what you are currently running and trying to repair your boot drive. (for instance, booting up with a 10.6.3 DVD when...

Re: Can't seem to stop the crashes and kernal panics

I wish I could tell you that putting all your VI's on VEP will stop the kernel panics, but honestly, VEP has been a very frustrating experience for me with PT. The Kernel Panics are WORSE when...

Re: Vienna Ensemble Pro

I've had good success with the D-Link switches. You can get a 8 port one for less than a hundred bucks.

For screen sharing, it's done thru the network. If multiple Mac computers are hooked up...

Re: Vienna Ensemble Pro

1. Ethernet switch should work fine.
2. Forget the expensive solutions and use Mac OSX screen sharing. Free. Simple. Works great.
3 & 4. I use ONE keyboard and Kensington trackball across 3 macs...

Re: Cant run enough VI's. Let Logic do it?

If you've got enough ram on your main machine (I'd recommend 16GB minimum if you want lots of VI's) you can certainly run VEP and PT on the same machine. I have HUGE orchestral templates and I got...

Re: How Quiet is the Mac Pro for a bedroom studio?

Quietest Mac I can remember. Quieter than my Iso Cabinet. With 4 HD's as well. Probably the quietest Mac I've ever had, and I've had most of em.... (PS - Nehalem 8 core - 2009 model)

Re: Heat will have to be RTAS!!

I had better not be dumped. I just upgraded to a Magma and my dealer ASSURED me that Avid had told him they would be supporting the chassis for a long time.

Re: Omnisphere Problem with PT8

I know it's probably no help, but it's working perfectly here. Same OS and Omni version.

Re: Hey PPC users - What do you think?

Many of us HAVE figured this out as of late. There has been a HUGE exodus to 8 core + Magma chassis recently. Keeping our PCIx cards, and adding some to boot. PT9 is nice, but has really not much...

Re: I Can Assure You TDM is Far From Dead

Actually, I think the price of accel x cards has been creeping back up. LOTS of guys switching their x/G5 rigs to Magma chassis and adding cards. I think with all the brand new "PT9 native" users,...

Re: SJ reporting in on elastic time:

I just started using elastic audio in a couple of places. I find the results mixed at best. Tempo correction is weird. Sometimes you think it will work great and it's very glitchy, other times...
