I use a lightning to Ethernet cable for my iPad. Then this is pluged in a dumb switch along my S1s and Dock, and that is connected to my computer. Stable!

I have found that some plugins are not "cross-OS compatible"... meaning that you loose parameters and automation going from one OS to another.

I got a used AJA LHi on ebay for dirt cheap. I did replaced the onboard fan as it was making an awful noise. It ran perfectly on OSX 10.10.5. I have now switch to Win10, and it's working great!

I don't see why it couldn't. The only "low point" is that 15watts 2 cores i7 but i'm sure it is OK for moderate use.

From experience, PT10 will not run well on Yosemite (10.10)

If you don't do surround and don't need the advanced mixing features, then in your case, you don't need HD.
