I had the same problem on a macbook pro with my M-Audio Firewire 410, even with the expresscard slot. I tried everything, and eventually sold the 410 and picked up the Fast Track Ultra USB 2.0...

Are you bus powering the FTU? If you are powering it by usb only, only 2 channels will show as there is not enough juice to run all 4 mic pres. Plug in the AC adapter and all 4 should be there.

I actually think that you are dead on with this. I switched from the M-Audio Firewire 410 to the Fast Track Ultra (USB 2.0) mainly for the couple of extra XLR ins. I haven't had any of those...

I don't know of a list, but the top choices seem to be Glyph, OWC, and Lacie. The OWC's, in my opinion, are the best bang for the buck. Solid drives and enclosures without the premium price tag.

I didn't do anything, it was already installed on leopard, and it still worked after the upgrade. I did disconnect everything from my MBP during the upgrade, did all the reboots and then connected...
