I`m using a Command 8 on Protools 10 HD 10.3.7
and the Command 8 is very ceap about 3oo USD:-)

try uninstal pro tools 8 in windows safe mode , then restart the computer log in to your( my Avid acound) then download Pro tools 8.0.4 or 8.0.5 ( newest )this one is 64 bit

If you can revert to 8.0.1 CS 2 ...it´s the most stable version for xp..

Like when you create a new song , the song needs a name and all the files protools needs is in that folder ....
this is the right way....hmm sometimes i have found my ptf file in other folders (...

Am I doing something wrong? ..... if you are in import Audio , then yes......
but if you are in Import Session (just below import audio ) ... You song name, .......at least i have done it many...

Try this :
1. Open new Projekt
2. File + Import session Data + chek all ( plugings settings and stuf )
3. mark all Audio files in that session
4. Press ok ..... then all your data , timeline,...

when i have made my recording ,and push stop the audio is grayed out for 7 sek, i know that my audio drive ( E ) is 8 mb cache,and my system drive ( c ) would it help if i upgrade to WD 64 mb cache?...

Did you bounce to 44,100 and 16 bit , this is a must if you want to hear it in the mediaplayer in windows, ...... it does not support say 48,000 khz and 24 bit
