i figured it out.
In case anyone is interested, I had to download an app called UA Connect, register my mic, and then the necessary plugs are downloaded and installed. I didn't know to do this...

Does anyone here have the Sphere Mic plugins working in DSP/Hybrid mode on a Silicon machine (Non-Rosetta)?

By the way, I did also look at the Controller page in Kontatk Instrument Options, and made sure the top of the cc7 range was set to -6, but the volume sliders still default to random values. urrrrgh.
