Re: MacOS Sonoma

Yep, same bug here.

It's really annoying and make the important transparency feature practically useless.

Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

Yep... unfortunately I can confirm that bug in PT 2024.3/Sonoma.

Every time I try to move a clip with transparency it begins to flicker like crazy, which makes that feature practically useless....

Re: PT 2024.3 | Released

Yep. I can confirm that. PT 2024.3 now shows both performance and efficiency cores utilization in System Usage window and it's way more CPU friendly than 2023.12.

I've tested a bunch of heavy...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

Installed PT 2024.3 with Sonoma 14.4 and was pleased to see how much better it performed in my system(mac mini M1 16gig Ram).

I've tested a bunch of heavy sessions that used to be problematic with...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

I'm happy to report that whatever bug that was causing the graphics sluggishness in Pro Tools is gone since I've installed MacOS 14.3!

Although it seems that is still room for improve the graphic...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

Yep, fully disabled using Terminal command. It's one of the first troubleshoot procedures I take when things go wrong with a OS update, to exclude any havoc from mds process in the background.

Re: MacOS Sonoma

In fact, with the 3 last major MacOS updates I've only jumped the ship one year later, when the next release was around the corner and the OS was already fully mature, in it's last dot releases.

Re: MacOS Sonoma

I take great care to keep my system optimized and I'm fully aware that a fresh system install is the best way to go migrating to a new OS release.

But considering the hassle it is to go thru the...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

No luck here with the restart trick. The sluggishness appears regardless.

And it's a Pro Tools thing, since I've not observed such behavior in Cubase 12, Logic X, Studio One 6.5 or Luna 1.4.8,...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

I'm also running a MacMini M1 with 16gb RAM, but never had this kind of graphic sluggishness in previous versions of MacOS.

Clearly there's a lack of optimization in Pro Tools with Sonoma that's...

Re: MacOS Sonoma

Installed Sonoma update in a separate SSD in which I've a copy of my Ventura working system.

Launched a large session with a lot of 3 party plugins to test things out, and although it played fine...

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 - Major delay compensation bug

Just to let you guys know that today I got an e-mail from Avid team saying that this thread was flagged as a reference to investigate this bug.

I forgot that I’ve opened a ticket for this and was...

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

Just find out that Plugin Alliance silently released AAX Apple silicon native versions of almost all Lindell and NEOLD plugins alongside with a couple of other odd balls. Sweet! :D

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

Running native here, no HDX of carbon. No hardware inserts either.

Already tried to trash preferences, with no luck.

Oddly enough, I created a blank session with just an audio track and a...

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

Hi Darryl, thanks for that info.

Running at 48khz.

The session was created using PT 2022.12 native beta, and it behaves exactly the same under rosetta, with no red warnings.

Using the same...

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

Tested here with different tempo values and got no such error.

Grid works as expected, with whole numbers that escalates into subdivisions according with the zoom level

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

Just rolled back to 2022.12 beta and confirmed that the session runs with no ADC warnings.

PT 2022.12 is reporting ADC value of 24530 for the master out(like expected, since it carries a bunch of...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

I meant if you want to have a fully ARM native experience. Non native AUs loads up in BCP AAX by using "AUHostingCompatibilityService", which consumes much more resources from your system then a...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

Sure. I was confused by the first part of your post, which seems to imply that BCPatchwork wouldn't run universal 2 binaries natively.

But it's true that BCPatchwork cannot load AAX plugins,...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

In the meantime, you can use BCPatchwork or Waves StudioRack to load and run a bunch of plugins that currently are not showing up in PT, as long as they have AU/VST universal 2 binary versions

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

If I'm not mistaken, that's not the case for any plugin that is universal 2 binary in it's AU/VST incarnations, which would load and run ARM natively inside Blue Cat's Patchwork(which is a universal...
