Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Well, any digital mixer that can take a Dante card would work. The SQ-5 is "more than enough" for this application. I upgraded to it from a Midas M32. I wanted to work at 96Khz, and this change...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

This is my experience as well. My current monitor path goes from Rednet 2 AD conversion onto the Dante network, from there to the SQ-5 where monitor mixes happen, and then out to AM2's in the room. ...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Thanks again for helping me think it through. I hadn't really thought about the redundancy bit. You are right, of course about the physicality of the gain knobs, etc. I had mostly just rationalized...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

This is how I ended up with a Dante connected digital mixer in the monitor path.... I basically just have AD/DA delay. The SQ.5 is .7ms, so the latency is very low. Low enough that I haven't had...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Octatonic, thank you for the relevant details. I just went and counted and have 30 analog channels coming in between Rednet2 and SQ-5. Additionally, I currently have 8 ch of digital I/O to and...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Paulo, Thank you for sharing your experience. It is highly relevant. I would also plan on using the built in AES interfaces to my Genelec setup, so this is quite helpful. Today I do this with a...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

I'm sure you are getting exquisite sound quality from the Merging unit. If all I did was classical, I'd probably just use Pyramix and a HORUS. Obviously the cost is about the same as MTRX, I was...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure I read that in one of the feature matrices on the marketing site. So, it seems I will be getting an HDX card regardless of what else I choose to do MTRX or...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Thank you for reminding me of the Red16 line. I'm used to looking at the pure Ethernet boxes in their line. That would be my least expensive route to connecting my existing studio to an HDX card. ...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Thanks! I wasn't familiar with the KLANG stuff. In fairness, I've never had any trouble, even with drummers on the AM2's. As far as I know, there are only two Dante chipsets. The older one and...

MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

I am a longtime Cubase/Nuendo user where I have a couple hundred track orchestral composing template going. I have added PT 19.12 Ultimate to my DAW.

Today, my studio runs on Focusrite...
