Re: HDX recording help...

Ok, here's the need...

In the past I have been multi-tracking our services with FWX and LE. In the past few months we have been talking about upgrading to HDX to get a larger track count because...

Re: HDX recording help...

Ok, another question... FWX has 2 firewire connections... can I connect each of them to a different PT rig simultaneously, and record 18 on each computer? I imagine it would be the same 18, because...

Re: HDX recording help...

Thanks. The article i read was misleading and indicated a PTHD interface was required along with the HDX. Does PTHD software come with the card, like PTLE does with FWX?

HDX recording help...

So I have been recording in LE with FWX, but am going to upgrade to HDX. It appears you need a 192, or 96 HD interface to make it work. I'm slightly confused though...

Is it a fire wire cable that...

Re: MADI questions for Sheldon

Ok cool. It's more straightforward than I thought. The only problem is it's gonna be at least $10,000, it would seem. I would need two MADI->HD converters plus the MADI card. A sweetwater rep told me...

MADI questions for Sheldon

I just got done watching the madi webinar to gain some info, but I have a few questions.

I'm currently running a venue profile with an fwx card. Occasionally I will record program material via...

Sending direct outs to studio room

Hello. I know there are some people here sending multi-track audio to a studio location, and I am trying to look into this. What is the easiest way to do this? Can I install an A-net card at FOH and...

Re: Vnc?

I use VNC 5 times a week with the digi. I get absolutely no problems with VNC connected. If you are experiencing an unresponsive console, it is either a problem with the VNC, or possibly an entirely...

Re: Dynamic EQ questions.

Just an update on my situation... The McDsp, although very nice, is not the right tool for the job. Apparently you cannot adjust the crossovers of each band. Compressing 1k-10k isn't the solution to...

Re: Dynamic EQ questions.

Ah, that's good to know. I'd definitely prefer a typical threshold in this situation.

I'm gonna be demoing MC2000 in a few minutes, so hopefully it works out.

Re: Dynamic EQ questions.

yeah. That's why I initially assumed that was the case with VENUE. I never would have even brought it up, but I had a mic today that was fluctuating between 0 and 15 db of compression, and it sounded...

Re: Dynamic EQ questions.

By the way... I forgot to ask this is my original post. Maybe Sheldon will have to answer this.

When using the side chain function with the on-board compressor, is the full range of signal...

Re: Dynamic EQ questions.

Thanks for the advice. Fear not, the speaker processor is doing the proper room correction. But a multi-band on a few vocal channels will help, in addition to the speaker processor. An LR EQ can't...

Dynamic EQ questions.

Can anyone recommend a great dynamic eq/multi-band compressor for venue? I suppose McDsp might get the most recommendations here. But let me describe my need...

I have a room that gives me back...

Re: Drum replacement with LE & Drumagog

Well, I realized the latency was from the digi playback engine. Dropping that to 128 fixed the latency.

Drum replacement with LE & Drumagog

I've got a drummer with crazy hi-hat bleed. I'd really like to have a channel of sampled snare that I can pull up as necessary. I tried this with drumagog today, but the latency was really...

Multi-Band Compressor

Any suggestions on what to go with? Obviously budget is a concern, and the MC2000 by McDsp looks like the most cost efficient one I have seen. Does anyone have one they recommend?

My room is...

Re: Parallel comp

I do parallel compression with IMPACT on a stereo group. I use VCA's for controlling groups of faders, so my "groups" are unused, aside from parallel comp, and a clean mix of stero drums. You could...

Re: D-Show Profile to control HD3 Rig?

Post/Studio mixing on the VENUE can work pretty well, even though it can't necessarily be a PT controller. But you can send your PT channels over to the console, and then mix from the console back to...

Re: Eleven Live

I often encourage 'direct' guitar players to give it a try over their pedals. It typically sounds a lot better than your average distortion pedal direct tone. I'm especially fond of the fender amp...

Re: Input channel presets.

I didn't actually apply a preset. I just looked in the manual, and in Chapter 5, under the "input channel presets" it says that the presets include patchbay assignments. I'll give it a try and make...
