what has VEP to do with midi in PT ?

it maybe has something to do with cpu-performance, but not with creating midi tracks

Thanks for responding ! I've tried that of course... but the lag isn't constant, it varies depending on the tempo and it's not consistent there either... crazy

this bug has existed for years, so far avid has not been able to fix it (or don't care)

Therefore: midi recoding in Pro Tools is a serious problem

...and I'm afraid it will stay that way......

I've never understood why it's so complicated to relink missing files in PT... Logic finds the files (if they exist) in seconds. PT doesn't seem to be using Spotlight for searching.

same here, only in some sessions... I found out it only happens if the H/W-buffer in the Playback Engine is set to 1024, if I set the buffer to 512 offline bounce works correctly

I didnīt try this, since I assumed it wonīt work or not reliable at least. I use the RME Interface in Catalina only. Did also work very reliable in High Sierra and in Mojave.
With dedicated SSDīs...

I still use PT10 HD with 192 I/O and two 96 I/O for tracking, but for tracking only.

Meanwhile Iīm mostly working on Catalina (same machine, seperate SSD, RME USB-Interface, PT Ultimate, Logic X...
