Re: EXPORT AUDIO- DIFFICULT QUESTION - pro tools / sibelius

I'm guessing here; Say you have a quartet recorded, four tracks, and you want to provide the four musicians with one bounce each, and each bounce with their own performance missing. Did I get it...

Re: Multiple Tracks To 1 Track

Here's a simpler way to achieve the same thing:

(BTW, IMO the best name for this kind of thing is a 'submix'. A 'bus' is what we call the connection between a source and a destination in the PT...

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac

I've used it successfully on PT macs going from cheesegraters to imacs to mac minis and on OS versions as far back as at least Lion. Just don't let it migrate applications. That's been my experience.

Re: Ilok cloud question

I use iLok Cloud too.

There is a menu item in iLok License Manager called "Close session", if you had selected that on your studio PC before you went home, there would be no...

Re: Carbon - Intel Mac mini vs M1/M1x Mac mini

Just be shure, they're talking about M1 support, running thru Rosetta, not PT code rewritten for running native on M1(x). I'm guessing that will take years, if it ever happens at all.

Re: Promo for perpetual license holders

I just got a very straightforward mail from Avid about what they're offering.

I have an expired 2020 perpetual license, and I can buy a 1-year subscription with current version and updates, plus...

Re: Where in the world is...

Austrailian, eh?

Well that explains alot.
His big mouth, his big head, and generally dominating presence.
But like all aussies I've known thru the years, I miss him too.

Re: Promo for perpetual license holders

But shure! If you have the support plan for the perpetual still active (not expired), you can run current and older versions. I somehow thought you'd let it expire. I have.

Re: Promo for perpetual license holders

Of course, if you want to be running them both at the same time, you'd need two iLoks.

Re: Promo for perpetual license holders

No, you can install PT on as many computers as you like. You just need the licens(es) to run them. You can have both the subscription license and the old perpetual license on your iLok, and plug it...

Re: Promo for perpetual license holders

Yes, it's easy.
You buy a new license, a monthly or a yearly subscription, and keep the old perpetual one, so you have two. What you don't wanna do is "upgrade" your perpetual (and get the first...

Re: GUI short freeze and beachball still on 2021.7

The clean install thing is of course a problem as it's not ever been explained or confirmed, really. But I've used it many, many times over the years with success, so I'm among those who recommend...

Re: Carbon - Intel Mac mini vs M1/M1x Mac mini

I've owned four minis over the last 18 months. i3, i5, i7 and M1. All of them have issues w/bluetooth. If that's not important to you, it's fine. The i7 gets very hot and very noisy. I solve it by...

Re: Pro Tools 10 (Mac) on a second computer (MBP)

Francois, you're not alone in being confused. It's not easy to follow all the license and compatibility rules with PT.

But I'm pretty shure when I say that; if you upgrade your PT10 license to...

This is a Pro Tools user forum. So you won't necessarily get Avid support here.
If you explain in detail what happened and what is showing in your iLok and Avid accounts, someone might be able to...

Re: CPU overload even system usage is all good

My point is; a clean install (OS install on empty formatted disk) is best for PT, as opposed to an upgrade on top of existing OS. If you can, you should try it. As I said, it's worked for me many...

Re: CPU overload even system usage is all good

Too bad.
You mention upgrading - both hardware and OS I'd imagine. I know Janne (Jfreak) will agree with me that many times we see that upgrading Mac OS will cause instabilities w/PT. So, I suggest,...

Re: CPU overload even system usage is all good

I never used PT12, so I'm not shure if it has the option to set how many cores to use in playback engine settings. But this is what worked in PT10; set PT to use one or two less cores than max, and...

Re: Unable to get Audio Sound in Pro Tools First JBL wireless headphones and pro tool

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
PT connects to your focusrite because it defaults to using the connected coreaudio interface, and will only use that. Try to make a signal generator plugin on a insert on a...

I agree. Seems like this is the essence of it.
