Re: HD Madi in broadcast situation

It sounds to me that you are getting away with this because your SRC is of the modern type that is resolving any issues with clocking, however, it might not work with other makes of SRC and for my...

Re: HD Madi in broadcast situation

I don't totally understand your question, however, I think you are imediately going to have a problem trying to sync to two clocks. As it is a digitally clocked feed from the Digico, I suspect you...

Re: Something New

I suspect if Waves had come onboard with AXX it would have made things a whole lot simpler for Avid, but then Waves has it's own agenda and strategy. The fact that 8 years on Avid hasn't had to...

Re: Combining 48 kHz and 96 kHz audio in one session

I wouldn't worry, it looks like you are trying to overthink the situation. Downsampling to 48 for just 12 tracks and then finally mixing to 44.1/16 shouldn't be a problem, if you are really worried,...

Re: SC48 for mobile studio setup

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've not visted the forums for nearly a week.

My caveat is based only on the potential latency using PT native as against HD or HDX. Quite possibly you...

Re: Creating a crowd from a few voices

I took a quick look at their site, there were numberous demo's, I thought all of them were "enderwhelming" to say the least. The crowd one, just washed around in a very unpleasant, phasey way. ...

Re: SC48 for mobile studio setup

If you are going to be doing live takes only, then run the monitors and the mix from the Venue. If however, you are planning on overdubs, use the Venue as a mic amp/interface and run the mixes from...

Re: SC48 for mobile studio setup

I disagree with Nicolas about external clocking. It's been well documented, technically, why external clocks can't improve on internal clocking. All the subjective data has never been proved in a...

Re: Pro Tools 10 HD -- DAE 6031 HELP !!

Try another video card, I've just had the same issues with an Nvidia 210 and as soon as I disabled it the problems went away. I've had this same issue with a Pyramix system running an Nvidia card...

Re: DAE PT10HD Fix that may work for YOU!

I've had the same issues, using an Nvidia 210. Rolled back the drivers, but still didn't cure it so I disabled the Nvidia and Hey Presto! All ok.

Thanks for the tip, I've posted a new thread as...

Run out of CPU error 6031

Just some further information that may or may not be of help. I've seen various reports of those with this problem and various solutions offered.

I have had this problem ever since building my...

Re: Auto Tune Live

Hi, just a follow up on your post. Several people here are posting about how you need to choose the right key signature and the settings, let me just correct them and spell out the issues.

If you...

Re: DUY AAX Plugs

They won't, and I can understand why. Avid are probably not happy about the situation, it's not good for people to read this on the forum even though it isn't any of their fault. In fairness, they...

Re: Advice on providing audio for film, please SC48

Ah, but this is "amateur night", so a truck, madi, remote pre's are likely out. They are probably hoping that the FOH wil track it all for them and hand them the files, which of course they will mix...

Re: Advice on providing audio for film, please SC48

Obviously you are limited to 32 tracks (providing you have the right software versions) on a Pro Tools system. That would be the obvious answer assuming that you have that facility and it's...

Re: DUY AAX Plugs

ANyone who spends their money with DUY is a fool. I bought some plugins from a user in America. To cut a long story short, they didn't include a piece of software the seller thought he had on the...

Re: Auto Tune Live

You can only run TDM effects and plugins on Venue systems, it might be that the Auto Tune Live if it's a newer product may not have a TDM version.

As an aside, I would strongly recommend against...

Re: SC48 in 64 channel mode (not enough layers) question

You could set the channels on that layer to a VCA and then by double presing the associated VCA enanble "VCA spill" to recall the particular faders you need, tha's assuming that you have only 16...

Re: Too soon to talk about a new console?

10 years ago you would have killed for 24 aux bus! Personally I don't think having only 24 aux's is the limiting factor, more the fact that with 24 (or even 16) loosing stereo groups becomes an...

Re: Too soon to talk about a new console?

I think all you say above is right, 12 VCA's/Groups, would be a huge benefit.

Perhaps with all the changes happening about AAX, that may become the definitive factor in a new live console. ...

Re: Too soon to talk about a new console?

I think that is will still be a while off yet. Venue has been incredibly successful for Avid, It's probably the most successful touring console out there and I keep on seeing even the "haters"...

Re: Installing Soundtoys Decapitator on Profile

I would be surprised if at a festival, they would allow you to load your own plugin onto their console for the reason that it might introduce some instability, even if you do the install by the book,...

Re: Help with FX on MON!!!!!

Well you could patch effects on a channel by channel basis or you could use the 8 PQ's for your IEM mixes. The PQ's give you the option to select 8 individual channels, plus you can send from the...
