Re: EuCon 3.4/3.5Mouse troubles

I'll try out EuCon again without the Wacom tablet installed. Since I'm only using the Pro Tools Control as a EuCon device I'm not losing much , so I might just drop any and all plans to use EuCon any...

Re: EuCon 3.4/3.5Mouse troubles

@Avid support

Whether it's the EuCon control application or the MC client, after I end them, the mouse runs in a normal way.

System note:

Keyboard and mouse run off their own slots on a USB3...

Re: EuCon 3.4/3.5Mouse troubles

It's all on powered hubs. -edit- The Razer Synapse software is only for setup. The mouse itself controls its DPI settings and stores these silly little Chroma programs that vary the lighting on the...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

I'm putting together my next build, after coasting on an extremely stable i7 920/X58 Gigabyte board and just 6 GB RAM for over six years.

Naturally I want my system latency to stay low. I'm asking...

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

A good reminder to check in here again.

So many of us seem to have kept out builds in the past years, so unlike previous years.

Just now I'm almost at the point of procuring a Samsung 840 EVO...

Re: Control|24 with Pro Tools 11?

I can certainly attest to that.

I did dialogue mixes with those faders ten years ago that I haven't been able to match in terms of speed and precision with any other control surfaces yet. The Icon...

Re: Now it's time for the PT10 + CPTK users to fork it over

That puts a slight damper on plans to get HD features for my home setup. Now I'll need to buy one of those hardware bundles which I'll need to immeadiatly sell again, minus the software.

Let's...

Re: Cedar DNS One Hasp Craziness

Youch!

The local dealer might still have dongles with older firmware you could use while the other is being shipped 8000 miles to have its innards fixed.

I'm sure they'll accomodate you. They...

Re: TransVST !

Better resolve this quick.

Better that Avid suffers slightly to the benefit of its users and future platform viability ("look ma, I can use stable VST plugins instead of RTAS bulcrap!"),

than...

Re: Copy/Paste plugin automation

Sometimes you'll want to copy the setting for a section of the project.

The Icon has some nice copy/paste functionality for this kind of thing. Does anyone know if there's a EuCon command for...

Re: Protools 10HD upgrade back up to $1,000 dollars!

With the disk cache feature that's more of an artificial limitation once again. :D

But it's worth a try for any PR aimed at more gullable folks, one might think.

Re: Protools 10HD upgrade back up to $1,000 dollars!

Any kind of transition will certainly take a while in the post production sector. The other folks are catching up admirably, and in some ways have long surpassed Protools.

What it does have going...

Re: Please vote to bring back DV Toolkit to CPTK upgrade path for limited time

No, and yes.

Protools 8 and 9 was bloody useless to me, as it turns out. That's why I didn't bother with CPTK, and then the buggers decided to dump the upgrade path before I'd even had a chance to...

Re: Pro tools 10, best non HD interface recommendation?

I can report that the RME Fireface UC works very well.

RME have amongst the best driver support out there, so they are a good candidate. You have plenty of options with them, including PCIe cards...

Re: Please vote to bring back DV Toolkit to CPTK upgrade path for limited time

Well, they do deserve both a little praise and lots of scalding. And I haven't heard any engineer talk about them this nicely as I just have because of the rather mediocre handling of the CPTK...

Re: DV to Complete Toolkit Upgrade is Back-at a higher price

@Avid

Two questions.

Do we need to surrender the DVTK2 licenses ?
There have been concerns about this in the past, and users were then told that they could keep their DVTK2 licences for...

Re: Please vote to bring back DV Toolkit to CPTK upgrade path for limited time

650 Euros for German customers. $800 for US customers, right ?
DVToolkit1/2 to CPTK2 upgrade.

That's almost a tripling in price. Looks like a pattern. Looks like they'll take whatever they can...

Re: DVToolkit2 vs Pro Tools 10

That is unfortunately not the whole story.

DVTK2 enables automation writing commands in the edit menu(and their shortcuts).

Those commands are gone in Protools 9 and 10. They moved those...

Re: Please vote to bring back DV Toolkit to CPTK upgrade path for limited time

That last thank you is presupposed non-existent sentiment. Another sign of disrespect and contempt, but what else could they say when somebody decided to dump a $300 upgrade path in favour of a $2000...
