i've got a pair of Dan Alexander 73's and i love them. i'd say go with the dan alexanders. seems to be almost the same price atleast now as the vintechs would be, might as well get the real deal!

kick in: 421, D12, D112, or 52
kick out: backwards wired NS10 subwoofer(making it, essentially a SubKick)
kick is always tunneled unless its a jazz project.

when they came out they were decent, now most people regard them as pretty sucky.
heck i still use mine sometimes, but mainly for scratch tracks or bottom snare mics.

to use an adat or optical lightpipe piece of gear such as the digimax/octopre/ada8000, yes, you must run it through the optical ins and outs on the back of the pci card.

i think 5 by 5 should be ok. the vocals will sound very flat(no reverb) but you can add that later if you need to.

Ditching Prefs on a PC?

At work on a TDM Mac system, I always ditch my prefs(Protools Prefs, Sound Prefs, DAE Prefs) before I begin working. Oftentimes this helps clear the ProTools palette...Does anyone know how to do this...
