Mike, did you remember Microsoft strategy to make their programs crash on Macs? They were sued for that.
Anyway, we are in 2004, using 2 DAW's is obsolete, so use one or the other.

Logic ESB/TDM crashes, but it does not mean that it depends on Logic.
Logic is greatly and perfectly stable, 365 days a year, but when connected in real time with Pro Tools, it becomes unstable....

If you want to use your studio for important projects, i really suggest you to first try both systems, with a lot of tracks and a lot of plugins/fx. Then you will have the answer.

AFAIK large film studios use Harrison, or similar consoles.
