This solves my problem. I'll just be extra aware when changing from recording an audio track to a midi track, or vice versa. Awesome, thanks so much.

True, I'm not using loop recording. Ideally what I need is for my audio tracks to behave like midi tracks:
When you enable record on a midi track it automatically UN-enables any other midi track...

Hey guys - I've had a breakthrough in my latency issues. I installed PT 11 and wasn't getting any better results until I actually UNINSTALLED the Digi 002 drivers and got a huge performance boost.

I'm running all of my VIs on the slave, so my pro tools session load is light... just a dozen audio tracks, and one instrument track with the VE pro plugin.
