OK - I have PTLE 8.05 working on Mavericks 10.9.5 BUT - 002 lightsup, period

PT8.05 recognizes it but says "unsupported device."

However, my MBox2 works and 8.05 is more than I need.

So my Q is this:

Before I trash the 002, is there a workaround? Right now...

Mbox 2 won't work with El Capitan. For that reason I stayed on Mavericks 10.9.5 where Mbox 2 will record but not play back (for long) - so I'm using the mbpro's headphone output and the MB2 as input....

Thanks for the help. There are a boatload of $1300-$1600 PC laptops out there, but (apart from Costco, where the pickings are slim) no 60-day trial. I might buy a iPad or a Macbook Air for the family...

Thanks for the help. I'm a bit daunted by the $249 upgrade from PTLE8 to PT9, though. That's the difference between an i5 and an i7.

Or (dare I ask) should I even think of getting a high-end PC...

We have a 2010 MBPro with PTLE that works fine - but the family shares it for the toys. (My old G5 chugs along with PTLE 7.1).

I have a strange prob on my old G5 (see entire setup below). Midi will record, and play back on/through my keyboards, and the notes are visible on the Edit Window.

But -- the volume meter shows...
