I have the "step up" from stillwell's acer laptop....the It's the acer 5672. It has 2 gig ram preloaded, 1.66 dual core, etc....Anyway, I know there is an even faster (and cheaper) acer...

I read a post above about an Acer for 999...I went to compusa to check it out, and ended up getting it's slightly bigger brother.

1299 after rebates...

Yes, the hinges crack on some of the models...(i have a 6809 that has cracked hinges)...but is it really THAT big of a deal?

The hinges on mine have been cracked for sometime now, and it doesn't...

I've got the Emachines 6809, 3200+ amd 64, 512 ram,...etc, and I'm using the 002R.

Runs SO STABLE, but all these new performance numbers out here got me jealous!! ...
