this is not true. You have to be under wup in order to initially authorize an iLok key, but if your already authorized key fails waves doesn't charge you for authorizing a new one.

not sure about d24...Waves 3.x will only run on OS-9, most likely the last PT version that runs on OS-9 will run your Waves.

same here, i demoed the Q-clone and used it on a few different hardware eq (neve, API, SSL) and was amazed (and so was everybody else in the room). it rocks!!

i use universal audio (LA-2a and 1176) and also waves C1, Rcomp and Rvox.
the Rvox is the best and most easy to use compressor on vocals (and also other instruments that behave like the human vox)....

the only waves plugin that loads on Mix only (not on HD or Accel), as far as i know, is the SuperTap 6 seconds (the 2 seconds loads fine everywhere. This is due to the C type DSP chip found on Mix...

funny you don't hear digital distortion.
digital distortion will occur everytime you pass 0dB, and unlike analog distortion, which is very nice sounding, digital distortion is always nasty sounding...

in order to delete a waves user preset hold down the Apple (Mac) or Control (PC) then click on the 'Load' menu on the plugin and choose the preset you like to delete.

i own the Diamond bundle and the IR1, and i find myself not needing anything else most of the time.

well, it's not exactly the same price level...one process card would be around 3000$ and will not take even 1 IR1 (neither will Accel card), but then again, it seems like the waves card will only...

for 5 hundreds you can get the waves native power pack bundle. that includes the Trueverb, L1 (limiter), C1 (compressor) and some other stuff.

trueverb is not a cpu killer and is amazing.
