It's not Avid. It's Acoustica. They never figured out how to spec their plugs for AAX. Even with native code for Apple silicon they will still suck.

FYI- the relaying of your experience is what has made me hold off on a Studio purchase.

It could be that PT and other audio software use and need CISC (complex instruction set chips) to best do...

I can feel the pain of those who have purchased the Ultra only to hear PT is not totally rockin on it.

It would be nice to hear from a programmer as to why this is the case and what we can expect...

Thanks Frank. Have you tried running on a fast external drive on the Studio.

Trying to better understand what's holding things up. Internal should not matter but who knows.

Thanks for the reply. I use a single card as well. I've been quite happy with HDx. It's one of the few things I sunk money into that still proves itself each day.

PT has always been hit or miss from my own experience on various machines. Agree it could likely be a single plugin but there again we go with AAX as a platform no where near as tight as it needs to...
