Not sure if something like that exists...but isn't one of the big advantages of thunderbolt is that you can daisy chain things? Maybe you can just daisy chain them? Never tried this, just an idea..

Assuming your session is at the same bit depth and sample rate as the audio file you want to use, while using the "import audio" function, select "add" instead of "copy". That way the audio shows up...

Why does Pro Tools perform better when it is using fewer cores?

I think it may be more like the computer as a whole can run better with fewer cores dedicated to PT. background tasks need some of that CPU power and if you give it all to PT, things start to slow...

If you use the import audio command instead (shift+cmd+I) the track will be named the same as the audio file. Perhaps that will help save you some time.

I just have to say, buying a c24 for VO work is completely unnecessary. You could buy a really nice mic/preamp/eq/compressor with that $5-6,000. As flashy and neat as they are, not necessary for VO...

When you import session data, look in the lower left corner. One of the options is "memory/location markers". Check that box and hit ok. This is assuming you are on an HD of course...

Then highlight the desired section to be cut, then cut!

Yeah, that's normal. Sessions will always look for their original disk allocation first. So if you armed one of those old tracks that was tracked on that original drive, PT would make a new session...
