Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

Let us stop here bro, it is just the same when you pour two glasses of water from tap and give one to the artist. He or she asks for a colder one, you bring the other one that is just as warm....

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

Meaning if you have top of the line computer that can do ten sessions simultaneously then why not, but still good enough is good enough. I am not calling millionaire artists dumbasses, but a lot of...

Re: Pro Tools Not Recognizing 192 I/O

Old sole blue DigiDesign interface is just fine, you only need an adapter between original DigiLink and the new mini DigiLink.

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

I am not going to argue what you hear or not.

But whoever I have ever made monitor mixes (myself included) 512 is not acceptable in any way (talking about 48k session) and 256 is okay. If they...

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

Maybe you know many professionals who have TDM systems with +350 samples worth of plugin sample delay on their session then? It is pretty normal to have "lightning fast" TDM system that has +350...

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

These are the same people who complain about latency of 128 samples compared to 64 samples. It means a difference of 1.33ms at 48kHz so guys please just decide whether few millisecond is a lot or a...

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

I don't know how Logic beats the laws of physics, but you cannot have it all in theory. IF you have i/o latency compensation on, you need to either accept a short click in a playback or screwed...

Re: Zooming IN and OUT - GPU or CPU

Anything you DO in a GUI is handled by CPU, anything you SEE in a GUI is handled by GPU.

Re: cmon Avid, it's time for hardware insert bypass

It would still screw latency compensation. If you really want to do it, you need to duplicate your track and have two versions (with and without hardware insert) and then use mutes to switch between...

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac

Where are your sessions located? I copy mine to desktop, the internal drive measures about 3000MB/s throughput.

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac

Yes I have, but nothing serious. Only testing myself so far, nobody else coming to a session. No beachballing so far, most serious issue being Sonnox Pro Codec does not work.

Re: Pro Tools Not Recognizing 192 I/O

Get a screwdriver and re-seat the digital card a few times. If it still does not work, then it does not work.

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac

So far this is testing with recording silence, but once I gain confidence will be for real. My sessions are mostly mixing, with only max half a dozen VI's -- and for that this 16GB memory limit seems...

Re: Stems ,how to set up and export

Once you take a minute to think about it it is rather easy. A stem, or a submix, or whatever they want to call it, requires you to route your tracks to aux or audio track where you can commit to a...

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac

No beachballs here so far, but only one week worth of testing. Let me repeat myself, this is a clean install, not factory install.

Re: digi 002 Blk lion ?

No problem.

Had 002R in 2002-2006 and know it very well. Good as it is and does not get significantly better with a pricey mod. But for what it is, it is solid good piece of hardware.
