It doesn't make any difference what's connected - I've tried it with just the power cable and it behaves the same way.
When it is connected to things, I'm using:

Thanks - yes, it's hard to know if it's a difference between boxes, or just if some people are more sensitive to the noise..

Yep, I'm sure you're right - I have a case logged and I'm just waiting to hear....

Nope, they’re not there. I have the Carbon tab and the only items shown are the ReadMe and the manual.

I've registered the Carbon and extended my perpetual license support by another year.
