DigiDeserter

Re: Driver install error

Just upgraded to 7.3.1 from 6.4.something, and I got this error. Followed the instructions (sort of) given here (http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=54&langid=1&itemid=22312) and everything...

de-essing

Roy, IntelDoc, (anyone who has advice),

I'm having a lot of trouble with esses. I know my recordings are not so high-quality that it really matters that much, but anyway. My current method,...

Within Reason

Maybe a dumb question: is there a way to send a signal from an audio track in PTLE to a Reason effects device like the reverb? I am still working on the finer points of the union of these two...

Trakz, Heðin, IntelDoc

Trakz - there's some inspired rhyming in StreetLife! (...European...VSOPing...). What I DON'T like is all the vocal doubling (harmonizer?). It makes the whole song sound chorusy and inauthentic. ...

Re: Sweet Indeed

Doug,

I like Waiting, but my downstairs neighbors don't like the bass. Too bad. As for Jim Morrison meets The Knuckle Song...don't know what to say. A melancholy rendering of that annoying...

No Edge

Ouch. Crushing songwriter experience. Usually I can tell pretty quickly when something is derivative, and I usually abandon it. But somehow I managed to write an entire song before I realized I...

Vision?

Roy,

Thanks for checking out Saddog. I don't know about production vision, though. I start with a song, record scratch guitar and vocal tracks to a click, then start following my fancy,...

Up and running.

Protein, I like Sorry a lot. Yann, you are a genius.

Silverware still in boxes, but Mbox is up and running. A new version of an old song...now with keening and technobunny beats...a vocal flange...

Change of Venue

Hi all. Moving overseas in a few days. Any advice, do's and don'ts, lessons learned on moving a 120V home studio to a 220V home studio would be greatly appreciated.

Work in Progress

Frustrated with arrangement issues. I know this isn't a writing forum, but any thoughts on filling this in would be appreciated. Can't seem to do any (needed) lyric rewrites until all the parts are...

Some Project5 synths give CPU task error.

Trying to use Project5 in ReWire. Transport OK, sound OK, but certain synths (PSYN, for example), give the CPU task error. Don't need these synths (or even P5, for that matter), but just tryinf it...

Re: Echo Lake

Yes, I am playing the banjo and guitar. Abel T. Onlive and Sam Pletank are playing everything else (they're quite good, don't you think, but not very imaginitive...they only do exactly what I tell...

Re: overnightlows new song

Joz,

I like it. Is that an oblique Money Pit reference in there? Engaging vocals - your singer has audible charm.

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Chris,

1. I totally agree about the vocal style. The uncomfortable blend of folk and funk is evidence that I am faking the funk.

2. About the prefader reverb: should I continually...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

It just sounded like the kick drum lost some low end at the very end of the song. But I'm on headphones here at work.

I also forgot to mention how much I like the lead vocalist's voice.

Okay,...

Re: Let\'s hear your latest stuff....right here

Sharritan,

Excellent, clean mix (in my amateur opinion). Two items:

1. The chorus on the harmony vocals gives a chromey sheen that does not seem in line with the sort of wrought iron...
