Thanks again,
We are recording to an internal, but not the boot drive. It's a second internal on the ata bus.

Re: Best settings for 80 track recording to HD3 at 48k
Jeremy,
Thank you for your prompt reply. WOW, I had no idea they recommend 3 drives for this. This rig has recorded a major act for years nightly, with only an occasional hiccup. I am trying to...

Hi,
What are the best settings for capturing 80 tracks to an HD3 at 48k for two or more hours. The mac is a single 1.25 with 768 megs of ram. The drive is a 7200 rpm internal. This very setup...

Re: What is the most STABLE G5/OSX/PTHD3 for live rec?
No ideas?
OK maybe I need to clarify.
I just want to know what version of Pro Tools and what version of OS X are MOST stable with a G5 and an HD3. Recording (archiving) is the main focus.

Hi,
What is the absolute most stable OSX/PTHD combination for live recording? If one had to capture crucial performances live to an G5/HD3 rig with 96 stems, what combo would be most bulletproof?...

Ok,
now I'm further confused... (but plesantly), I just installed pro tools m-powered on the laptop with a FW410 and the sessions are opening. I'm ecstatic, but confused. How did the resource forks...

Re: FAT32 drive/OS X/cant copy sessions off drive
Rail,
Thank you..
I read long ago that fat32 would kill the resource forks, (and I believe it) but a few things are confusing me. I think the producer also worked from this drive later on the same...

Re: What has more DSP an HD2 or a 2/dual 2.5 G5\'s/
I actually was attempting to compare the DSP only of the HD2 cards vs the DSP available from 4G5 chips (2X2 G5) So for comparison sake ignore RTAS available to the HD rig. This is in no way a PT vs...

What has more DSP an HD2 or a 2/dual 2.5 G5\'s/Logi
Hi,
Theroetically, what has more DSP?
An HD2 rig, or a logic rig with 2 Dual 2.5 G5's using distributed processing?
