I wouldn't be so sure that the intension behind this move is solely financial, there are many other reasons including lack of personal to keep up with so many "versions" of PT and so many OS...

I've done it, incredible but true, I was not able to distort a mix using Waves L2 in Logic, same mix and plugin in PT is a different story.

I'm wondering if the original poster is referring to the "mass" being louder by 10db. The peak won't go louder then 0db but with something like an L2 you can increase the "mass" by compressing it. I...

Try repairing the permissions.
Go to:
Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
Open it and select the boot drive, click on the "repair permissions" button.

You say you have 1 analog IN, 1 analog OUT, 1 digital I/O, is your expansion slot empty?
If so, you can get an analog IN card, to get your inputs...

Your answer is YES, both ways, sessions created by 7.3 will open in 7.2 and vice-versa.
Though the features introduced by 7.3 will be dropped when the session is opened in 7.2.

I've met Peter Neubäcker in LA (NAMM) back in 2002 or 3 (can't remember well)... this guy is a true genius, his ideas on the field of audio are brilliant, while everybody was trying to better the way...

It's all fine here, I had no problems getting the serial number and the iLok license was transfered without a problem either.
So far (one song) no issues with the plugin, not a glitch,...
