I purchased one 2212 cpu back when I built my "quad(really dual)" with the hope that when the quad cpus came out I could just drop one of those in place of it and then maybe go octa in the future....

I would have to say the same thing about my "quad" as Mr. Jeff C, who I think had the first Socket F up and running... It's very stable and fast, but I am waiting for the quad chips.

Why not just build your quad around the Tyan S2927 Thunder Mobo? The UAD-1 works great with it.

It works with the Newer Tyan 2927 Mobo socket f. I use my uad everyday.

CPU usage settings

Yes do it! The 2927 is a great motherboard and is working fine with the UAD-1 cards. I am running 1 proccessor and 2 gigs of ram and having great results. Although I don't have anything to compare...

I finally did a thorough dverb test and got 76 with these specs:
90% CPU
1024 h/w buffer
24/48 res

TYAN S2927A2NRF
(1)AMD OPT 2212 2.0G 1207 2x1M 90R
ZALMAN CNPS 9500 AM2 - works really well...

BTW I'm probably not a good gauge for any of this since I have only one proc and 2 gigs of ram but... Since we are using a different motherboard than Shan's I figured I'd use the Tyan CD drivers...
