I know you suggested reinstalling xp but I first did what you told me to do up here. now I'm running a session on my system drive (though I don't get it yet with the VIA_IDE controller....

Reinstall XP and set it up as a Standard PC this time. Use the VIA IDE controller drivers that come on the CD.

again, it happens especially when ptle is on. according to what witchdoctorD is saying it's indeed the only software that uses...
