Surely in the project/budget/personal studio acoustic environment it is usually of dubious benefit to record at a resolution of more than 24bit/44.1k. Working with a G4 tower and having the interface...

Check out EMU's Proteus 2000 - good wide selection of quality sounds and can be picked up pretty cheap now. And doesn't use up precious CPU cycles...

Well that's a bit of a kick in the teeth for all us loyal 001 users who never saw the need to 'upgrade' to the tune of hunderds of dollars for 2 extra mic inputs.

PTLE runs perfect without Altivec. It doesn't really use much processor power itself (it only supports 32 tracks for a start!). It's your plugins that need the juice. I suggest you go...
