1: it isn't every shop, it's one. If a particular shop in town raised their prices on a product refresh and I thought it was worth it,...

Yes. Yes it does.

Been using it for years. I especially love the old school UREI sound. It's unobtrusive, but still cuts through a mix, and is short, so minimizes headphone bleed.
