Re: PT HD 8 compatibility Snow Leopard

I installed 10.6.8 and PT HD 8.1.1 seems to work fine. I did have to delete prefs in order to get it to launch. I have only pulled in maybe a half dozen projects but they seem to load/operate just...

Re: PT HD 8 compatibility Snow Leopard

Thanks for the post. I'm in the same boat. I need to 10.6.8 is needed for several upgrades that I'd like to do, but I'm holding back until I have more confidence that PT 8.1.1 works OK with 10.6.8....

Re: Wow, HD|3 to HDX, let me see if I've got this right...

Open to discussion, but here's what I would budget for each of these options.

Option #1 HDX
$7000 - Exchange to HDX
$3000 - new computer
$2000 - update TDM plugins to AAX DSP
$1000 - upgrade...

Re: It's simple: don't upgrade.

Sounds reasonable, but at the same time why leave the many PTHD8/PTHD7 users behind? To us, Avid's attitude is pay up or get lost. You'd would think they want to pull as many people as possible...

Re: Protools 8HD to 10HD Upgrade Price is ridicules!

Yes, the upgrade pricing is way over the top. As an HD3 Accel (PCI via magma) owner, my plan is to stay with PT 8.1.1 until it doesn't work any longer. At that time I'll dump the hardware for...

Re: Anything that can Mellotronize samples?

Also, the Mellotron is mono, AFAIK. Shrinking a beautiful stereo string ensemble down to mono is a step in the Mellotron direction.

Re: Pro Tools 10 looks great!!!

If Avid does add Freeze and Print, do it like Ableton not Logic. With Ableton Live after you freeze a track, two options are available on the track: unfreeze or flatten. Flatten turns the track...

Re: Short question from a new user! :)

There's a good video called Comp Tracks to Perfection on DigiTV. It's in the Protools 8 section.

Re: Major issues with protools HD 8.1 - Snow Leopard

FYI, according to a support message I just received from Waves on another matter: "Waves products are not officially supported under PT 8.1, at the time we support all versions until 8.0.4."

Re: I need a flexible RTAS pattern generator/slicer/

In addition to Massive, Omnisphere has very flexible modulation envelopes.

For an audio plugin, check out Loomer's Sequent.

/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins is where all the RTAS/TDM plugins live. Have you removed it from there?
