I can't really recommend a consumer router, sorry. (not sure which ones can do multiple SSIDs). I use Ubiquity access points separate from a router/firewall which support VLANs and more.

Multiple routers on the same network is not really a great idea. You'll get conflicting DHCP servers trying to do the same thing which will create unpredictable issues.
