Is somebody at Avid or DAD working on a more complete input vs output latency...

That's the actual answer to what? Jeff is talking "roughly 1ms" and you just said "Any amount of samples of delay on hardware inserts is completely unacceptable". I said you get at worse ~15 samples...

You are asking two separate questions.

The MTRX Studio when using DigiLink emulates a HD I/O to Digilink. Pro Tools is hard coded to know the insert latency for a HD I/O. I do not believe the MTRX...

If you turn on and off ADC and the output of the inserts shift in time then the ADC is doing that, how much exactly it is correcting for you can measure. Remember the actual total H/W insert latency...

Right because with ADC off you see the actual H/W insert delay that consists of DAC/ADC conversion times, H/W buffer latency (for input and ouput) and often a little bit of other overhead.

Well between the impossible happening and you making a mistake here I am going to have to go with...

I am not sure how exactly how or why you are measuring latencies with an analog insert device,...
