Re: Mix Farm Card vs DSP Card

On the other hand, a DSP farm cost about $300 compared to $+1000 for a mix farm card on Ebay. Not all plugins will run on a DSP farm just so you know, but older plugins like Lexiverb will run fine on...

Re: Prottols Mix plus vs HD, about to buy system

It is most of the times the other way, going from Pro Tools to Nuendo.
I have a mix ++, but just bought Cubase SX 2.0. My idea is to keep Pro Tools until I get adjusted to Cubase/Nuendo.
Sure, the...

Re: 888 audio interface and mixer question

You really sound like you are serious!!
Well, you need a preamp for the mic to get a proper level and avoid distortion. Many mixers has built-in preamps, but you can also buy a single preamp that...

Re: analog console and tape emulators

The AC1 from Analog channel is worth the price alone. It use very little dsp, so you can strap one across every channel, and use it for additional "analog" gain with a result much like gaining on a...

Re: analog console and tape emulators

Also has anyone checked out the brand new "Phoenix" from Cranesong. If it's anything like the tape and tube process in Hedd192, it's a winner!

Re: OT: Dynaudio monitors - that good?

There is a big difference between the BM-6A and BM-6. A good amp to power the BM-6 runs up to $1000 to match the quality of the built in bi-amp in the BM-6A. If the $700 is for a pair of BM-6...

Re: OT: Dynaudio monitors - that good?

I LOVE mine. Anyway, they are easy to sell on Ebay if you don't like them (but you will). About $1200 on Ebay for the pair. What is the price he wants for the pair? (just curious).
Good luck.

Re: Waves Transform Bundle

Aha!!
They do listen to us users. It was $2400 until yesterday. Now I only wish they would offer each plug-in separately.

Re: Waves Transform Bundle

I agree. I'm sure the Soundshifter would be great for remixers, but for me it would only be the rarely keychange on the fly for singers in a session which will be re-recorded after the session...

Re: Waves Transform Bundle

It sounds okay to me, but to argue it is better than Serato Pitch and time or Wave Mechanics speed is a tough call. I'm not convinced. Speed sells for $495 and you don't have to buy 3 other plugins...

Re: Waves Transform Bundle

I just tried them briefly. The doubler is the best of the bunch IMO. The most natural doubling effect I ever heard besides doing it with double tracking.
The vocoder sounds pretty cool too, but I...

Re: Mix Compression - What Plugin U Using?

You should try filter freak from soundtoys. The phat analog preset is gold on the 2 buss. Also try the loudizer preset for the "wow" factor. Looks like I have to dig down into that wallet again.
