I have spoken to other Avid DV Xpress users since then and it appears they have also had problems importing...

once you have all your QT clips, you open them all, you name them say clip 1 to clip 5, and then you open a new qt file, which we could name NEW.

yes, you inport small chunks, export them to different QT files, and then create a new QT file, cut and paste all chunks, save in "allowing for..." mode, and voila!

I am laying back to Digital Betacam.

Using a Rosendhal nanosyncs as my house sync for all digital gear, which includes PT, of course.
