Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

I'm with you on the positive approach. It's just a beta which we can try, or not. What's going to be challenging is your last sentence. Soundtoys (in particular) may take ages to become "supported."

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

That's me in real life (or meirl as the kids would sady). My storage cabinets are immense whereas my studio, where things are plugged-in and used, is actually pretty slim these days.

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

I got into Spark on Day One and it's been on every session. I loathe bundles and microtransactions in general but that's one I don't lose sleep over.

Re: Mac Studio Max and HD Native vs

I have as well. Massive sessions even. No sweat for the drives or Mac.

These days, it's even advantageous to keep everything on the internal drive, or as much as possible, because those Apple...

Re: How to tell if an app/plugin is Apple silicon, Intel or a Universal Binary?

Great info. I keep a simple app called PluginInfo on my desktop. It shows similar data, most importantly Apple/Intel-32/Intel-64/PowerPC clarifications. I don't know if it's being supported anymore.

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

If you're going to post a link to the whole movie then I'm going to have a hard time not watching it front to back. Never gets old or boring.

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

YES! Absolutely a sign of having too many plugins. :D

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

I'm most curious to know about the apples-to-apples comparisons. PT, Native, with a group of Native plugins, vs. PT under Rosetta with those same plugins. As a test, only. I can't see using this for...

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

Avid can do no right. If they don't release a public beta in December they're dragging their feet. If they do, regardless of how successful that release is, they're not doing enough. This forum would...

Re: MIDI Hanging Notes troubleshooting - sustain - arpeggiators - 3rd Party many VIs

Good post. It's nice to see some deeper insight and data.

I've mentioned this problem 4 or 5 times on this forum (and others) and have Kontacted all the developers whose products are most...

Re: Mac Studio Max and HD Native vs

Native TB and Mac Studio are working great here.

My interface offers both Digilink and Coreaudio but as much as I wish I could wean myself off Digilink it's my preferred protocol, and I did try...

Re: Mac Ventura Compatibility

If it were me I'd downgrade to Monterey. There's no disadvantage to this, and with Murphy's Law and the known issues from certain developers you'll be running a risk of some unforeseen issue with...

Re: Source Nexus noise bursts on closing session

I used Loopback prior to AB and it got the job done. A few extra steps, but if SR is needed then it's a good option.

Re: Source Nexus noise bursts on closing session

FYI, we're replacing Nexus w/ the basic Audio Bridge offered in PT *for free* and it's been fantastic. No more headaches associated with Source Elements. Sounds like you're getting it worked out,...

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

It's a great idea for a product that many people would use. I've struggled with that very question countless times. As the title suggests, there are just too many options. Just yesterday I found some...

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

Over the past 15 years I've not missed Waves once, not in the slightest.

I miss new releases from Massey though. I wish Steve would jump back in the saddle. He wrote great sounding, CPU efficient,...

Re: My Midi Instrument Plug in is playing the wrong notes compared to my MIDI KEYBOAR

What he said. Or... your keyboard controller is transposing in real time without you realizing it, or you have real time transposing turned on in ProTools. I suspect it's the plugin though.

Re: You Know You Own Too Many Plugins When....

When you have so many options that it becomes challenging to choose one and continue moving forward.

I was often more productive and creative back when I only had a few VIs and a keyboard...

Re: Digi Pre Controls MIssing??

I'm glad you got it sorted. I, too, thought it might be a tough issue since it's an older box.

It's an odd protocol to be sure. I'm using it currently with a 3rd party interface (with a Digilink...

Re: macOS Ventura 13.0 - Anyone tried it (or a beta)?

Have you tried opening and listening to all your plugins? Sometimes plugins from the same developer will react differently. I remember opening several Soundtoys plugs thinking all must be fine only...

Re: bounces not really 32 bit?

It's not about sonics, it's about standardization. They request these specs across the board and a computer checks upon upload to see if the file qualifies. No one is sitting and listening and...

Re: Pro Tools Compatibility with macOS 13 Ventura

This first thing I'd do with that new Mac is downgrade to the latest Monterey, then start installing. I know Ventura is working for people in many ways but I've seen a list of audio-related...

Re: bounces not really 32 bit?

I think he's referring to the master fader. Is there anything which the whole mix is running through which might be dithering? Those are the plugins I'd be looking at.

Re: External drives keep dismounting

That's good news. Which dock did you end up with? I've managed to get by with the included ports but they're all taken now so the next step would (probably) be a dock.
