take a look at Adobe Premiere.
The software has a multi camera mode and synchronizes the different camera videos with the audio track of each camera.

we use the ddp with 8 pt hd/av systems since 3 years. In the meantime you can use xsan as san for pro tools. So we use the xsan for video playback (FC) xdcam and the ddp cat5 for audio....
