solution FOUND!

system preferences / accessibility / display / cursor size.

if size is 100% to the left (minimum) it disappeared. When moved slightly to the right it came back

suddenly tools 2018.3 cursor disappears when over audio and bus tracks etc. it is visible on the mix screen. This 'just happened' today.

I noticed that anything older than 2018 will not open without hangs. I suggest session import; also note that some plugins will hang too that are not 2018 ready.

Now developed - after closing tools, I need to quit it, since if I try to open or reopen a session it crashes. Any thoughts on this? Fixable, or part of the 'magic' of tools 12.4?
