I don't have a LE system, butplease check in the menu items for an item called "low latency monitoring". This will solve the issue during recording. Switch it off when not recording.

you are absolutely right. I just tested my suggestion and surprisingly it does nevertheless work ;). So as a dirty one-time hack you can just overwrite the snares with different sounds...

Good news. Will then have to upgrade to 8.1. In 8.0.4 it is not working. Didn't want to upgrade now, because of the OS update that is required. Thanks for the hint!

There is no standard search/replace in pt. A hack could be (never tested) to replace the snare audio file on hard disc which contains the snare with a new sample and then restart the session. Sounds...
