Re: Windows Vista and Pro Tools

It appears the only viable USB interface for Windows Vista 64 Bit at this time is the M-Audio Black Box.

Re: Windows Vista and Pro Tools

You mean for the MBox 2 Pro? What interface devices are compatible with Windows Vista 64 bit? Avid's website lists only for Windows Vista 32 bit.

Re: PT Mpowered 8 Mbox mini2?????

I thought that was the case but I've heard conflicting stories. Thanks for clearing this up. EDIT: Would you be able to direct me to a low cost M-Audio device? I primarily only use 1/4" jacks for...

Re: PT Mpowered 8 Mbox mini2?????

Hello,
I recently installed PT8 M-Powered on my Windows Vista 64 bit machine. My M-Box 2 Mini also does not work (I had PT7 on my old Windows XP machine). Would you please send me the upgrade to...

MP3 doesn\'t sound the same as PT playback

When I listen to the playback on pro tools, I'm happy with the way things sound. The playback has the right depth, it's fat, it sounds good.

When I mix down ("bounce") to an mp3, it sounds...

Re: Recording volume low, Mbox not in \"sound recording\"

Well, I think my IN1 is blown on my Mbox. We've had some bad lightning storms over the summer, and eventhough my computer is protected by a fused surge protector, I think my Mbox still took a hit. ...

Re: Recording volume low, Mbox not in \"sound recording\"

I've played around some more and switched my recording input to "IN2", and things seem to work, only now there is a strange echo when recording (when I only arm the track, everything sounds fine,...

Re: Recording volume low, Mbox not in \"sound recording\"

Ok, thanks. But do I have to re-install ProTools or something? I can no longer record anything (volume is extremely low). I don't know what happened. It used to work.

Re: Recording volume low, Mbox not in \"sound recording\"

Here's a question:

Should the Mbox appear as a recording device in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in Windows' control panel?

Re: Interference through the speakers....any way to cure?

Move anything magnetic (speakers, computer monitor, etc.) away from the Mbox.

I've noticed when I play guitar, the closer I stand to the monitor, the more "noisy" it is. Also, something like a...

Recording volume low, Mbox not in \"sound recording\"

It seems like every time I'm psyched to record, some new problem emerges.

I haven't changed anything, but now, when I record, the recording volume is very low. I can crank up my guitar and...

Does Pro Tools have a built in drum machine that sounds decent? How would I go about creating a decent drum track manually? Does that mean you have to drag-and-drop MIDI notes?????

I have a Boss...

I noticed the noise when I was playing guitar: the closer I got to the monitor,...

Re: OT Saliva --the only hum solution?

I'm about to do that. I've tried everything. It seems as though when I turn the treble up on my bass or guitar, that's when the noise is unbearable.

There is a noisy sodium halide (?) light...
