Re: Version of Protools for MBox and MacBook Pro?

Hi Sara,

It is a bit daunting when you're just getting into Pro Tools, I agree.

The answer is for OS version 10.5.8 you need v 8.0 or 8.0.1 (install 8.0.1 as it'll have a few bug fixes from...

Hey there,

Scenario:
10 tracks already recorded, some RTAS plugins inserted that cause a delay and so they're all evened up with TimeAdjuster. let's say the total delayon all tracks is now 200...

Re: Sessions Speeding Up upon Bouncing?

If the song plays OK in Pro Tools then I'd say you've tracked OK and your external unit and your 002 must have been setup OK.

What is your session set to re sample rate and bit depth? 44.1KHz and...

Re: Sessions Speeding Up upon Bouncing?

Welcome to the forums, hope you get the answers you need.

I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you mean, might need you to elucidate a touch.

When you say "bounce session files down...

Re: 003 Factory Alt Source Input Question

Yes.

Well on the 003R anyway, that's what I've got. I sometimes run my iphone into the source inputs so I can play a song through my monitors and jam along on my gat. Works a treat. You just...

Re: Can my Macbook Pro have an internal 7200 SATA drive?

Just watch out for how noisy the drive might be, you should be fine but 7200's do spin faster than a 5400 (duh) so there's more potential to be a bit whiny.

Maybe just read some reviews and go...

Re: Upgrade Info

Hi Michael,

The MBox 2 you have cna do zero latency monitoring, it splits the signal coming into your input and sends a copy straight to the monitor outs. Of course you can't add a reverb or...

Re: Does PT use more than 4GB of RAM

It's a basic limitiation of a 32bit application, until Pro Tools itself becomes 64bit it'll never be able to address more than 4GB of physical RAM.
This is true of any application on any OS.

003, Mini-Me and OctoPre all clocking together

Hi,

I've got a 003R and an Apogee Mini-Me connected through SPDIF, all is well. The Mini-Me sends word clock down the SPDIF, I have the 003R set to clock from SPDIF, it locks fine. (The Mini-me...

FaderPort panning for stereo tracks

A question for FaderPort users:

Is there a wayto control the two pan knobs on a stereo track? I can pan mono tracks just fine but if I select a stereo track, that has two pan knobs of course, the...

Re: Control Surface Recommendations

I'd seriously look at getting just a single fader controller like a Presonus FaderPort.
They are a fraction of the price of the bigger units and might provide most of what you're looking for. I got...

Re: Mbox 2 with (LE) playback at higher speed and pitch

I'm sure DigitechSupport have been through this already but you don't have a session sample rate issue do you?

I would try this: (I'm going to assume all your sessions were recorded at 44.1KHz)...

Re: Help - Reverb

mike1234, it also sounds like maybe the reverb presets you're choosing are a little too "large", maybe try going for a smaller room emulation that way you'll be able to have a little more reverb in...

Re: I give up - how do you split a part??

I'm not in front of Pro Tools right now but if you're in keyboard focus mode pressing B splits a region in two where you clicked.

Re: import audio WITHOUT sample rate converting?

I don't believe so.

If somehow you managed to get the file in there, it'd play back too fast.

A 48KHz session will read 48 thousand samples per second, so in the first second of playback...

Hi ya,

I'm spending a lot of time at the moment playing with gates as they're my weak point (or should I say weakest!) and one thing I'm struggling with is how much hold versus release to use.

Re: 2.5" SDDs?

It's hard to say how an SSD will perform as a session disk in PT. The read times on SSDs are very good but the write times can be poor and they don't deal with large files very well.
So it might be...

Re: Digi D8 and the ADAT Connector

You're using the wrong optical port on your 002. You need to run a cable from the optical out on your D8 and plug it into the optical in on your 002.

Think about the signal path and it should...
