Re: Problem with Pro Tools 9 and Lynx 2b

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't make sense as I can close a session come back the next day (without touching the buffer settings in the ASIO control panel) and open the same file and it will...

Re: XP Pro 64 thread

Whoa.. you can get PTLE 8 to run on XP64?
Will it work with an M-Box 2 Mini?

I have v7.x and it won't run.

Re: How do YOU record guitar?

That's an interesting opinion seeing as how they've been used on probably thousands of recordings. The same could be said for the ProTools LE solutions

Re: How do YOU record guitar?

What kind of guitar and guitar amp are you using?
What is the room you are tracking in like?

These are usually a huge part of the equation.
Then there's performance etc..

I have been playing...

Re: Switching from PT

I see,

I like Nuendo and I like Pro Tools..
Nuendo has a bunch of editing and automation bug/problems though. Not that Pro Tools doesn't have any problems

Re: Switching from PT

Nuendo is actually very cool and has a ton of options. It's a very young product and has a lot bugs, it's not as stable as PT in my opinion.

I went with it as the Digi LE stuff doesn't have what I...

Re: the End of Support for Digi 001?

Same deal here.

I am really caught between not wanting to put money into more or less the same LE (yet updated 96K solution) and going TDM which is far too expensive in my opinion (don't get me...

Re: MAC G5 or PC 3.2EGHz WIN

I strongly disagree with this statement.
Obviously there are different strokes for different folks, but I've been working with computers in general for quite a while and have seen way too many flaky...

Re: DIGI Wish list

I don't need beat detective. If the drummer or what have you can't play well.. get a new one or use loops/samples.

I'd like to see more I/O options. An all lightpipe, AES/EBU, or MADI interface....

Re: best vocal mic

The Audio Technica stuff is great (4033/4040, 4047, 4050, 4060). I personally wouldn't choose an AKG 414 for vocals. If you do go that route I'd opt for the TL II model. The Soundelux U195 is an...

Re: Valve plugs V real valves

These machines (plugs) are based on parameters.
A real tube (any) circuit can sound different every time you turn it on. not to say it's better everytime, but there are so many things that play into...

Re: Mackie Big Knob?

Presonus has the Central Station coming out soon which looks pretty cool as well. I've never used any Presonus gear though. They claim it is passive and won't harm the signal at all. It's innevitable...

Re: Life without a hardware reverb - is it bearable?

especially eventide, high end lexi's and TC's
I don't know though.. the Waves IR-1 is pretty darn impressive and has some of the Lexicon 480/960 impluses.

Re: Good first pair of headphones and Mic?

I personally wouldn't use Sony headphones. They have a very exaggerated high and low end in my opinion.

Re: Surround with 002 and Genelec or Mackies

The 002 and 001 are actually perfectly capable of 5.1 and 7.1 surround. They both have 18 ins and out's

you only need 8 outs for 7.1

PTLE doesn't support surround sound though.
It has no...

Re: OT Waves new IR reverb better than Altiverb?

it can import *.wav impluses I think.

I tried a few files from here (http://noisevault.com/index.php?page=3) , and they worked fine.
I think there are some limitations though.
The IR-1 comes...

Re: OT Waves new IR reverb better than Altiverb?

I am a PC user so I've not used Altiverb.
I just got the IR-1 and love it.
It sounds amazing.

It's not $700
I got it for $530 shipped to me from Sweetwater.

Re: What do you HATE @ the Digi 002?

Tele,

I didn't realize that it would only take 83 mbps to handle that much audio.
If that is the case.. I wonder why there aren't any companies using 100 or 1000 mbps ethernet.
all of these...

Re: What do you HATE @ the Digi 002?

Aren't most all in one native solutions limited to 18 in and 18 out.
Look at the Motu stuff.. Same thing. They allow more than one system to run at once though. I doubt firewire can handle too many...

Re: free plugins from Bombfactory/DIGI

Is it me?? or does the text on that site say all registered WinXP and OS X users will be getting the 1176 and Funk Logic Masterizer?

Masterizer isn't a big deal.. but I'll take the 1176
