When I close and reopen the session, it seems the new pan law is applied correctly, at least from a first impression.

Every time PT takes a single step forward, it seems to be taking 2 steps back...

It's absolute madness. HDX or Hybrid mode, no difference.

What's even weirder: When I just touch the pan knob on my S1, it goes to the new pan law, and after that slowly fades back to the old pan...

2022.5 Pan Depth bug

I just noticed that the Session setting for Pan Depth doesn't function in Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.5.

When I change the setting, nothing happens. The session keeps stuck on the pan depth I opened...

Good point, but no, they aren't.
Restarting Pro Tools solved the problem for now.
I noticed that some other tracks also switched playlists randomly, which messed up my whole session, so I had to go...

Whenever I use Shift + Up/Down arrows, to run through playlists of a single selected (MIDI) track inside a folder track, all the other tracks inside that folder...

Confirmed on Mojave. But it's intermittent. Sometimes the session starts without universe view and suddenly it gets populated, later on in the session. No idea what triggers this, though.

Do I understand correctly that you would have to do this for every combination of sample rate and buffer size?
And everytime you switch sample rate and/or buffer need to manually update all latency...

I really feel sorry for all those peeps being locked in to Flex due to their AVID hardware (e.g. HD native), while Studio or even Artist would do fine.
