Re: How to autoroute tracks when moved to, or created in Routing Folder?

To be fair, if you move a track into a "basic" folder that's already muted, that wll inevitably also mute the track you've moved - so re-ordering tracks *can* change a mix anyway.

Re: How to autoroute tracks when moved to, or created in Routing Folder?

Yes I wouldn't want Tools re-allocated outputs without telling me but a think a pop-up could work? "Do you want to re-allocate output to routing folder?" Or would this just get incredibly annoying?...

Re: Zoom Toggle

I just use "fit to window" but usually grab a couple of tracks above and/or below the one(s) I'm editing so it's not bonkers big. Been doing it this way for so long I can barely remember what any of...

Re: MIDI gets recorded early

I think a lot of people hard quantise and therefore are never really aware of the problem. (Not suggesting your collaborator does this...- just an interesting aside)

Re: MIDI gets recorded early

Hi

What's your H/W Buffer size on? This might be the same issue I was having a couple of years ago (but in truth I'd been struggling with it for years)....

Re: Automation workflow question

Personally I don't bother with "Write" mode at all and I honestly can't remember the last time I used it. You don't really need to "write" an initial value if you use "latch" or "trim" as you've...

Re: Advice for P Tools HDX & Apple Silicon

I know not everyone has the choice but wouldn't it be better to wait until everything can run without Rosetta? I'm only going by my memory of what happened the last time we had this Rosetta nonsense...

Re: How to bounce a mono track with Melodyne plugin printed on it

I tend to leave mine running "live" right up until the mix is approved, but then I am a serial tweaker :D

Re: Pan Depth/Law questions

Yes this is it exactly, but I think it has to be borne in mind that a mix with 2.5 pans will, by necessity, sound different collapsed down to mono than a pan setting of say 4.5dB. Maybe this is...

Re: Pan Depth/Law questions

Yes, this is all true, but the *stereo* versions of each won’t be perceived the same. Eg Something panned hard right with a 6dB pan *has* to sound louder than the same thing panned with 2.5dB pan,...

Re: Pan Depth/Law questions

Not true. A mix balanced in mono with pan law at 6dB vs the same balance with pan law at 2.5dB will not sound the same in stereo.

Re: Pan Depth/Law questions

“ Mostly irrelevant” - I’m not sure that’s quite true. I hate the *feel* of a pan law of 2.5dB, as in when you’re judging where to place something in space. It’s like the sound barely moves and then...

Re: Need Preference for Folder Track Orientation

I'm used to the folder being on the left now, I'd go as far as to say I don't even mind it.

Still waiting for this though

why isn't there a fader of some kind on "basic" folder to control...

Re: Pro Tools freezes while Loading Elastic Audio

The last time I had weird issues with elastic I had to get a guy from AVID to take control of my computer to delete a load of weird AVID hidden files.

I had a client with me yesterday, he said,...

I've not needed it (yeT) but I don't see why it shouldn't be implemented, it's a no-brainer.

The "/" key doesn't work when you're in the mix window. (It used to before v8)(which incidentally is another thing on my "niggles" list)

Also it's not the main counter I want to edit, it's the...
