I have a wireless button I've built to trigger talk-back on my C|24. This remote switch closes a relay in the receiver which is tied into the console's 1/4' foot switch jack. It can be used on any...

Wow. Thanks! This is helpful not because I use it, but now I know what I have accidentally hit to change it!

Re: Anyone using iSCSI for session sharing?

This is true. We long for the days of OS9 and PT5 where we could share Unity with multiple write-access users. Unity and OSX just never got along that well. Unity was also rather painless in letting...

Re: iSCSI - is it working for you ?

Running iSCSI in 4 rooms with a couple of SNS X4s. Pretty slick.

I haven't played with other solutions, but I'm sure they have their value, too.

Re: What do we change in Session Window to use Black Burst?

I assume you are using a SyncI/O and running PT7.4 HD. If not, please share your setup.

Under Session Setup, open the "Sync Setup & Time Code Offsets" screen. Look for the "Clock Reference" and...

Re: File naming?

You could leave out the underscore altogether.

PT will treat this date as part of the text instead of as a separate number, and changing the date will restart your numbering at 01.

Interesting. I am using driver v2.6 and the "Check for Updates" button does not show any new versions.

v2.6 seems to work perfectly for me with Leopard 10.5.4. Button programming and everything.

Re: LImiter on audiotrack Vs Limiter on auxiliar track

Inserted on your audio track, the limiter is PreFader (pre audiotrack fader).

Inserted on you aux track, the limiter is PostFader (post audiotrack fader).

Both methods have their uses.

Re: ISDN, Source Connect, VOIP?

We do a fair number of remote recordings using ISDN, both as the source studio and as the recording studio.

We have a sizeable VO talent pool we use, over 300 people. We also dabble with a few of...

Re: foley and effects LCR placement

Why do you want the center channel less crowded? Are there technical or procedural reasons?

I hope this doesn't sound snarky; this is a real question. I would think if you have a real center...

Re: ups for power backup with PT

Try a test. Unplug your 888s while running a session. I bet it will break and you will not be able to save what you are doing.

Even if it doesn't break, it is a good idea to put them on your UPS....

Re: Odd Wafeform behavior in 7.4

I"ve had this happen, too. And also, I haven't found any significant answers.

In my cases, it seems to be related to the plug-ins. Particularly the Drawmer plugs. It's not DC offset, the original...

If you have a bounce of the mix or track, you can throw the file on Snapper. That has options to show the loudest peak in a file.

Re: All regions have gone!!!

Hard Drives go bad far more often than RAM does, but RAM is worth testing, for sure. And of course, test your HD thoroughly.

Re: Can Someone Please remind what this means...?

Whenever I've had severe popping from switching plugs, assigning outputs, etc, a restart of the computer fixed it.

I hope this isn't more serious than a restart for you.

Re: embadded audio in omf

You asked about embedding the audio in the OMFI:
