It was an OS 9 issue only for me Jim, in X, it would always boot up. Now 9 & X are both working great. Now to order that PS & Fan update...

Yes, I've still got the problem. I think I'm going to buy an ATI Radeon 9000 and call it a day because I just upgraded to PT6 and the DH Max doesn't have OSX drivers and never will... ...

I can confirm this as well. Today I pulled the nVidia card out and installed my DH-Max.... no more black screen!! Now what's Apple gonna do about those nVidia cards?

I'm still getting the blank screen startup on first boot everyday. 2nd boot while pressing some keys usually gets it to boot into OS9 eventually. Seems not to be a problem in OSX. I guess I'm coping,...

I took my computer to the studio, connected my interfaces and powered up. Success! I'm not sure why it works now when it didn't before, but here's what I'm using:

Haven't tried it with a MIDI joystick but have been doing it live with a ProControl/Edit Pack. Also there's beta profile for the Axis Gallery Panner that should work as well.

Just a note, I have a G4/500 and a TiBook 500/Magma 2-slot chassis with OS 9.1 and OS X 10.0.4 installed on the same partition and have no problem running ProTools 5.1.1 on either system.

The incompatibility between DAE 5.1 and Logic 4.6 appears to be related to TDM systems with 1622 interfaces. I don't believe it affects 001 systems at all.

You didn't answer his question. I have the same problem no that I upgraded to OS 9.1. As soon as the computer boots with Digidesign selected in the sound control panel...VERY LOUD...

I had the same problem. Quick workaround is to play CDs via Toast instead of Apple CD Audio player. Works fine and sound come out of 001.

The beta MacOS drivers are on the 3dfx web site. I've been running this setup for 2 weeks now, and I'm very pleased with the results.
