Sorry for chiming in so late on this thread; the way I set trims on my 192 is I find the clipping point of the preamp (with a signal generator and oscilloscope), then I align this point to be 0dBFS...

192 Expansion Cards

Are 192i/o AD expansion cards *EXACTLY* identical to the "stock" analog inputs of a 192i/o? In other words, are the electronics and AD converter of these expansion cards the same as the analog inputs...

how can you pan in surround with a rotary encoder? You mean using two rotary encoders (L/R, F/B)? that would kind of suck if you had to use two rotary encoders to pan in surround.

Not to be demanding, but what would really make me go for the Icon as a system would be if digidesign came out with a "Pre Deluxe" which would consist of a prism or lavry AD converter and a digitally...

File name truncation???

when I take my pro tools session from a PT LE 5.3, PC based studio to a mac OS9/HD studio running PT 6.0, I am able to open the session (pts file) on the mac from within protools (thanks Rail)....
