Re: RE: Mbox Focusrite MicPres? HEY DIGI?

These mic-pres in the Mbox seem to be clearly advertised as Focusrite. The 001's were not and there was always some debate.

I don't believe they're the same pre's.

Re: Need QPS Que Burner Advice

My first external Firewire burner, and not a single coaster(knock on wood) 8x8x32.

Works great with Toast Titanium 5.0. Highest recommendation for project studio.

Re: becoming a better recording artist

Hi,
Lots of good advice. You did mention having a teacher. Get your money's worth and drill him or her about the songs you love.

Take "Drive" by Incubus; Simple, yet great chord movement, ask...

Re: IBM or Seagate?

I run an internal Seagate 30g ATA as my dedicated drive for audio. Fast, reliable and a piece of cake to install.
Not a glitch on playback and ultra-fast.
But who knows, it's all mechanics...

Re: BIG HEAVY STEREO GUITARS??? cant get em!!

Not sure if you're recording solely crunch guitars, but, by the Rectifier, I assume you are to some extent. Use clean tones also with the distorted sounds. It adds some color, bottom and texture....

Re: PLUG-IN CHOICES?

I hear Channelstrip by Metric Halo is considered by some as an "indispensable" plug-in.
I've also read great reviews on the
Pitch'n'Time plug by Serato, which may not be a priority to some, but,...

Re: Looking for proven soft synth

I also want to breakdown and get a soft synth and have also read great things about the NI Absynth. It's probably the coolest soft synth i've seen in awhile.
I tried the demo and am only scratching...

Re: How do i use or setup cubase with digi 001

You may want to do a search, in the Digi 001
for Windows forum. You're bound to find some
info. on this. I do hear the latency with Cubase & PT is substantial.

Re: External Firewire Hard Drive.....how about this one......

It looks like a good deal for a (60gb)drive, especially, a 7200rpm external.
I'd definitely find out who actually makes the specific drive.
However, I believe a 5400 rpm drive would suffice for...

Re: Digi001 NEEDS IMPROVEMENTS!

I hear the 828 sounds great and I see an advantage in the marketplace for Firewire interfaces etc, especially for remote field work.
It's convenient and appears like it's here to stay. I'm...

Re: Adding speed to audio

The first thing that comes to mind is Serato's Pitch'n'Time(Pitch shift and Time-stretch plug).
If I'm understanding you correctly.
It's remarkable and seamless.

Re: Is 5400 rpm o.k. for back-up?

Thanks Gents,

I'll look at getting the 40 gig 5400 rpm external drive for now, yes, for back-up only.
My burner is also firewire.
However, the other (2) 7200 rpm drives are internal ATA drives....

It's handy, even if you've been using PT for a while. Yes, some fundamental info. and basic tips, but, Chapter 5 on Midi was helpful, as was Chapter 12.
It can't hurt to have it in the collection.

"Guys",
Why do you want to go SCSI? If you don't mind me asking.
What's your current set-up, for configuration
purposes? I dumped my SCSI when I went to the Mac and never looked back.
