I don't get it.
You have a small room with all kinds of phase cancellation/buildups, modes, whateveryouwannacallit, and use EQ to fix it?!
You'll have to decide what part of the room to fix.

Sounds like you're in a very small room. Big rooms or small rooms, they both have resonance, both small rooms are worse I think, because in a big room you can sit close and kinda separate the direct...
